A Better You: Earn money and potential school credit while gaining job skills and professional references needed to build your resume. Meet new people and build physical and mental strength while spending weeks immersed in the Northwest's wildest places.

A Better Planet: Spend 5 weeks working on conservation projects such as tree planting, fuels reduction, invasive plant removal, trail construction, and fencing. Play a vital role in improving our public lands and the environment.

Northwest Youth Corps is currently recruiting for many paid Fall positions. Whether you are between schools, taking a gap year, or looking to gain more experience for your future career, Northwest Youth Corps has a spot for you. The challenge and simplicity of weeks spent working outside on meaningful conservation projects will give you the chance to gain perspective, learn new skills, meet new friends, and discover new opportunities. Northwest Youth Corps' Youth Camping Crews combine education and job skills training with outdoor adventure for 16- to 19-year-olds. With the guidance of experienced field staff, youth crew members work on conservation, reforestation, and recreation projects, while developing leadership skills and learning how to work as a team. Crews camp for their entire 5-week session, traveling to new projects often and recreating on the weekends.

Benefits/Tuition: Youth Corps Camping participants earn up to $1,665 including bonuses for their participation. The base stipend is $283 a week with uniform and rustic food and board included which equals $1,415 for the five-weeks plus up to $50 in bonuses a week, equaling $1,665. There is a tuition cost for this educational program of $75 with scholarships available based on need.

Required qualification:

-16-19 years old

-Ability to hike several miles, and be on foot for 8 hours per day

-Positive mental attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to follow safety protocols
